My Review:
This is the second book in this series, and I would recommend you read the first one, but it is not necessary to be able to enjoy this story.
Five friends who are as close as sisters and are there for one another during their rough times, and good. Love the camaraderie between these woman...they tell it like it is. They all have faults...as we all do...and although they attend Mount Zion, are not always following the Christian Road!
Sullivan having survived the scandal and now is deeply in love with her husband, and wants a baby. Kina is still trying to find herself, and finds herself in a relationship that rocks her faith. She is desperate to feel love again. Reginell and Garret want to have a child, or at least one of them does. Lawson is still not living her faith, and stripping, although she feels it is the only way she can further her career. Then there is Angel, she is planning on remarrying Duke, and living in the house that was Theresa's. She is also becoming a mother to Duke and Theresa's children.
You feel like you want to shake them, and yell "NO" at some of them and their decisions. As we follow them you will love their relationships and the "telling it as it is"!
Don't miss the great heartwarming read!

Litfuse Publicity Tours Presents: The Trouble with Cowboys (A Big Sky Romance, #3) by Denise Hunter
Only one pair of boots—and the cowboy wearing them—can get Annie out of the mess she’s in.
Annie Wilkerson is Moose Creek’s premiere horse trainer and equine columnist for Montana Living. Money is tight as she tries to put her kid-sister through college and provide for her young nephew. When Annie’s column is cancelled, she’s given first shot at a new lovelorn column—and she can’t afford to turn it down. Only problem is . . . Annie’s never been in love.
Always resourceful, she reluctantly strikes a deal with the town’s smooth-talking ladies’ man Dylan Taylor: She’ll work with his ailing horse, Braveheart, if he’ll help her answer the reader letters.
Working closely with Dylan is harder than Annie imagined, and she quickly realizes she may have misjudged him. But her unwavering conviction that cowboys are nothing but trouble has kept her heart safe for years. And she can’t risk getting hurt now.
The more Annie tries to control things, the more they fall apart. Her feelings are spinning out of control, and her sister’s antics are making life increasingly more difficult. Annie knows she needs to turn the reins over to God, but surrender has never come easily.
When Dylan reveals his feelings for her, Annie doesn’t know what to trust—her head or her heart. The trouble with this cowboy is that he might just be exactly what she needs.

My Review:
I don't like that this is the last book in this series. We have to say goodbye to Aunt Lucy and her dolls...love this character. This is Dylan and Annie's story. Annie has had the responsibility of raising her sister Sierra, and her son Ryder, after she promised her Grandfather. Sierra had her son when she was 16, and is now almost finished college thanks to Annie. There were times when I wanted to shake Sierra, but she has her grown up wings on. Annie is now in a relationship with John Oakley....Annie Oakley??? When Dylan Taylor's horse Braveheart goes blind, he is desperate for help. He doesn't want to put him down. Can Annie be the answer? She has a way with horses, but will John put up with her helping?
Both girls have problems with Cowboys, there father had been one, and abandoned them. After he left their Mom had brought a lot of cowboys into their lives, none stayed. So in there minds Cowboys are not dependable.
I loved the reference to "Smitten", Sawyer's Smitten Concert!! Another great book! Don't miss the sweet conclusion to this great series. Also gift yourself with the other two books in this series. You won't be disappointed.
I received this book through Litfuse Publicity Tours and Net Galley, and was not required to give a positive review.

Pump Your Book Virtual Tour Spotlight: Falstaff’s Big Gamble By Hank Quense
About Falstaff’s Big Gamble
This novel is Shakespeare’s Worst Nightmare.
It takes two of the Bard’s most famous plays, Hamlet and Othello, and recasts them in Gundarland. There, Hamlet becomes a dwarf and Othello a dark elf and Iago and his wife, Emilia, are trolls.
If that isn’t bad enough, these two tragedies are now comedies with Falstaff, Shakespeare’s most popular rogue, thrown in as a bonus.
Both Hamlet and Othello are plagued by the scheming Falstaff, who embezzles money from Othello. After Hamlet becomes king (with help from Falstaff) the rogue becomes the dark nemesis behind throne.
About Hank Quense
Award-winning author Hank Quense writes humorous fantasy and sci-fi stories. His motto is fantasy and sci-fi stories told with humor and satire. He has over forty published short stories and a number of nonfiction articles. On occasion, he also writes an article on fiction writing or book marketing but says that writing nonfiction is like work while writing fiction is fun. He refuses to write serious genre fiction saying there is enough of that on the front page of any daily newspaper and on the evening TV news. Hank lives in Bergenfield, NJ with his wife Pat. They have two daughters and five grandchildren.
Hank’s previous works include Zaftan Enterprises, Zaftan Miscreants and Tales From Gundarland, a collection of fantasy stories. Readers Favorite awarded the book a medal and EPIC designated it a finalist in its 2011 competition. His Fool’s Gold is a retelling of the ancient Rhinegold myth and Tunnel Vision is a collection of twenty previously published short stories. Build a Better Story is a book of advice for fiction writers.
About The Strange Worlds of Hank Quense
Hank Quense has written about the Strange Worlds that he has developed as a background to many of the books he has written. 10 Things you Didn’t Know about Falstaff’s Big Gamble
• In Falstaff's Big Gamble, Hamlet isn't in Denmark and Othello isn't in Venice; both are in Gundarland a fantasy land I created.
• Hamlet is a dwarf with a passion for bees
• Othello is a dark elf with a tarted-up resume
• Falstaff is still and overweight human, but he's a rogue. I think Shakespeare would approve of what I've done with Falstaff.
• Othello thinks he has an easy job as Minister of Homeland Defense in Dun Hythe, the country's largest city, until, that is, he learns a horde of demobilized dwarf warrriors have moved to the city looking for non-existent jobs. He also has to rebuild the city's walls and the local crime boss wants him to award the contract to her. Or else.
• At the end, Hamlet learns to handle kingship
• Othello discovers that getting talented subordinates is the key to his sucess
• Hamlet's passion is bee-keeping: "to be or not to bee."
• Othello's passion is to be successful, just once.
• Falstaff's passion is to find a rich, gullible mark.
EXCERPT
Hamlet, Crown Prince of Denmarko, paced the castle battlements late on a clear, cool spring night. He walked with hands clasped behind his back and head down. He had a thin nose with brown hair and eyes. His scrawny build and clean-shaven face gave him the appearance of a starving waif.
He paused, gazed at the multitudinous stars, sighed and continued his pacing. A breeze brought the smells of the harbor: salt water and rotting fish guts. At last, he stopped, thrust one hand to the sky and declaimed, "To bee or not to bee?" He stroked his chin. "Whether 'tis nobler to buy honey from the peasant farmer in the market and thus provide him sustenance and income to support his brood of brats, possibly keeping him from rebelling over high taxes . . . or to grow my own honey thus, gaining coins to assert my independence from my noble family and the sordid court? Hmm."
He paced some more, still troubled by his vexing question. Nothing less than his future depended upon the answer. Because his uncle, and now stepfather, Clodio, had usurped his right to rule the kingdom, he needed a profession and an income.
"Do you always talk to yourself?" a voice said from the shadows.
"Who . . . who goes there?" Hamlet's head snapped from one side to another while his hand grasped the hilt of his dagger.
"'Tis I, the ghost of your father. I bring a message for your ears alone."
Hamlet goggled at the specter who materialized in the shadows of a doorway. "You're not my father's ghost. My father was a dwarf and you're the ghost of an elf. You're an impostor and a dead one to boot."
"Hey, your father is busy and he asked me to fill in."
"Busy? In the underworld? What's he doing?" Hamlet clutched his red tunic and tugged downward as if to hide his shaking hands.
"He met a good-lookin' ghost of a female dwarf and he's wooin her."
"Dead not a month, and he forsakes his wife, my mother?
"You gotta understand. Life on this side — no pun intended — is pretty borin'. When you gotta a chance to do somethin' interestin', you gotta go with it."
Hamlet ran a hand over his face. Why me? he thought. "What's the message?"
"His death was no accident. It was murder most foul. Here is his exact message. 'But know, thou noble youth, the serpent that did sting thy Father's life, now wears his crown.’” The ghost paused then added, "Did your father always talk funny like that?"
"Murdered? By whom?"
"Didn't you listen? The message tells you who whacked him. Your father wants you to send this guy over here so he can talk to him. He doesn't wanna wait until the guy croaks from natural causes."
Hamlet watched in awe as the ghostly figure evaporated. A few seconds later, it popped back into sight. "Oh, I forgot to tell you. Your father says, 'Thy mother the queen is to know naught of this nocturnal visit.’" The ghost disappeared.
His father's murder shocked him. And the murderer had married his mother immediately afterward. Did the world have no morals?
He recalled his first thoughts when he'd heard of his father's death. How he admired the perseverance and tenacity his father must have had to commit suicide by suffocating himself with a pillow. Now all that admiration was wasted; the old dwarf had had help.
What to do? He needed to make decisions about bee farming and now he had to avenge his father. Was there no end to the demands on a prince's time? He said to the stars, "To bee-keep or to avenge? That is the question."

A Season for Tending by Cindy Woodsmall
In a community where conformity flourishes, seeds of Rhoda’s odd behavior were planted long ago. Can she cultivate her relationships with the same care and tenderness that she gives her beloved garden?
Old Order Amish Rhoda Byler’s unusual gift and her remarkable abilities to grow herbs and berries have caused many to think her odd. As rumors mount that Rhoda’s “gift” is a detriment to the community, she chooses isolation, spending her time in her fruit garden and on her thriving canning business.
Miles away in Harvest Mills, Samuel King struggles to keep his family’s apple orchard profitable. As the eldest son, Samuel farms with his brothers, the irrepressible Jacob and brash Eli, while his longtime girlfriend Catherine remains hopeful that Samuel will marry her when he feels financially stable.
Meanwhile, Samuel’s younger sister Leah is testing all the boundaries during her rumschpringe, and finds herself far from home in Rhoda’s garden after a night of partying gone badly. But Leah’s poor choices serve as a bridge between Rhoda and the King family when a tragic mistake in the orchard leaves Samuel searching for solutions. Rhoda’s expertise in canning could be the answer, but she struggles with guilt over the tragic death of her sister and doesn’t trust herself outside her garden walls. As the lines between business, love, and family begin to blur, can Rhoda finally open up to a new life? And what effect will this odd, amazing woman have on the entire King family?
Cindy Woodsmall is a New York Times best-selling author who has written six novels, three novellas, and Plain Wisdom, a work of nonfiction coauthored with her dearest Old Order Amish friend, Miriam Flaud. She’s been featured on ABC Nightline and the front page of the Wall Street Journal, and has worked with National Geographic on a documentary concerning Amish life.
She is also a veteran homeschool mom who no longer holds that position. As her children progressed in age, her desire to write grew stronger. After working through reservations whether this desire was something she should pursue, she began her writing journey. Her husband was her staunchest supporter as she aimed for what seemed impossible.
She’s won Fiction Book of the Year, Reviewer’s Choice Awards, Inspirational Reader’s Choice Contest, as well as one of Crossings’ Best Books of the Year. She’s been a finalist for the prestigious Christy, Rita, and Carol Awards, Christian Book of the Year, and Christian Retailers Choice Awards.
Her real-life connections with Amish Mennonite and Old Order Amish families enrich her novels with authenticity. Though she didn’t realize it at the time, seeds were sown years ago that began preparing Cindy to write these books. At the age of ten, while living in the dairy country of Maryland, she became best friends with Luann, a Plain Mennonite girl. Luann, like all the females in her family, wore the prayer Kapp and cape dresses. Her parents didn’t allow television or radios, and many other modern conveniences were frowned upon. During the numerous times Luann came to Cindy’s house to spend the night, her rules came with her and the two were careful to obey them—afraid that if they didn’t, the adults would end their friendship. Although the rules were much easier to keep when they spent the night at Luann’s because her family didn’t own any of the forbidden items, both sets of parents were uncomfortable with the relationship and a small infraction of any kind would have been enough reason for the parents to end the relationship. While navigating around the adults’ disapproval and the obstacles in each other’s lifestyle, the two girls bonded in true friendship that lasted into their teen years, until Cindy’s family moved to another region of the US.
As an adult, Cindy became friends with a wonderful Old Order Amish family who opened their home to her. Although the two women, Miriam and Cindy, live seven hundred miles apart geographically, and a century apart by customs, when they come together they never lack for commonality, laughter, and dreams of what only God can accomplish through His children. Over the years Cindy has continued to make wonderful friendships with those inside the Amish and Mennonite communities—from the most conservative ones to the most liberal.
Cindy lives in Georgia with her husband, three sons, two daughters-in-law, and a new granddaughter.
My Review:
I am a fan of Cindy Woodsmall's books, once you read them, they linger with you for a long time. This one is a compelling page turner and a big insight into the strength of Amish family life.
As with all communities, people are not always what they present themselves to be. People who claim to love the Lord and then do violence to another one is an example. Poor Rhoda has been bullied by some in her Community because she told the true about this individual. When first her garden, and them her beloved fruit plants are destroyed, she is beyond grief.
Enter the King family. Samuel has been in charge of the families apple orchard, and when a chance meeting with Rhoda, gives him an idea. So begins changes. Some are far reaching. As with the end of this book, we are heading down hill without breaks. Can't wait for the next book in this series.
Will Rhoda end up with one of the King brothers? What about Catherine? How about Leah? There are more questions, and I have to wait for answers, please soon!!
I received this book from Blogging For Books, and the Publisher Waterbrook Press, and was not required to give a positive review

Pump You Book Virtual Tours: A Matter of Time by Michael Bowler
What is your destiny?
This question haunts 20-year-old Jamie Collins. A junior at Santa Clara University in 1986, Jamie has friends, a professor who mentors him, and a promising future as a writer.
Then the dreams begin – nightmarish visions that transport him back to a time and place fifty years before he was born: Titanic’s maiden voyage in 1912! Less than a week before the 74th anniversary of its sinking, Jamie discovers that his fate is inexplicably linked to that of the famous vessel. Somehow, the two timelines are overlapping, and when Titanic dies this time, Jamie will die along with it.
The dreams reveal something evil stalking the ill-fated ship, something that expedites the collision which sinks her. Jamie realizes that the only way to stop this evil and prevent his own death may be to prevent Titanic from sinking in the first place.
But how? How can he stop that ship from sinking in 1912 when he hadn’t even been born yet? And even if he can stop it – should he? What will be the effect on history if he succeeds? Jamie’s quest to fulfill his destiny ties friends and family together in ways he could never have imagined.
A Matter of Time is an emotionally charged voyage into the value of friendship, the power of love, the impact of evil, and the vagaries of Fate.
ABOUT MICHAEL BOWLER
Michael Bowler grew up in San Rafael, California. He attended St. Raphael’s School and Marin Catholic High School before attending Santa Clara University. Titanic and her tragic fate fascinated him for as far back as he can remember. He has a vast collection of artwork, memorabilia and virtually every book ever written about the disaster.
He majored in English and Theatre at Santa Clara and got a master’s in film production from Loyola Marymount University. He partnered with two friends as producer, writer, and/or director on several films, most notably “Fatal Images,” “Dead Girls,” “Hell Spa” (later re-edited and titled “Club Dead”), “Things” and “Things II.”
He has written a number of unproduced screenplays and is currently working on other novels he has outlined. He’s been teaching high school in Hawthorne, California for over twenty years.
He has also been a volunteer Big Brother to seven different boys over 28 years with the Catholic Big Brothers Big Sisters program and a volunteer within the juvenile justice system in Los Angeles for 27 years. He is a passionate advocate for the fair treatment of children and teens in California, something that is sorely lacking in this state.
His first novel, A Boy and His Dragon, was originally written in the 1980’s before fantasy stories enjoyed a major renaissance, and has remained unpublished to this day. It is intended as the first of a trilogy.
A Matter of Time, his second novel, was originally written in the 1980’s and completed in the mid-1990’s as time permitted.

My Review:
A very different book from what I usually read, but with this being the 100th year of the sinking of the Titanic it peeked my interest. This book has it all with time travel, history, romance, and vampires?? The vampire part kind of grossed me out! What starts out as an ordinary year in his college life for Jamie Collins, surely doesn't end that way. He develops a very strange and scary illness...basically he can't stand sun light.
This book does become a page turner...you have to find out what is going to happen? Will Jamie win his love? Will he be able to stop the disaster? I dearly loved the ending of this book..so very sweet.
Don't miss this very different book and great read!

Prayers for the Dying by Suzanne Jenkins
The fourth book in the Pam of Babylon Series, Prayers for the Dying exposes more of what Kirkus Review said about Dream Lover, “A gritty, realistic portrait of the aftermath of deceit.” Jack Smith’s victims attempt to move forward while grappling with the pain and horror that he left behind. Pam makes a few startling revelations about herself, while Sandra hopes for a future with exciting expectations. Marie is in a most unlikely place, with the happiest news in the bleakest circumstances. Ashton’s story of a lifetime love affair with Jack is finally told, with its heartache revealed.
About Suzanne Jenkins
Welcome to my imagination! The Pam of Babylon Series, and the soon-to-be released The Greeks of Beaubien Street, are all creations of a rich and sometimes devilish dream life. Don’t worry—you won’t see yourself in any of my books, but if you do, it’s just a coincidence…
I live in the west Michigan lakeshore area with my husband of forty-three years, who is a saint, by the way, and two dogs: Nicky, an elderly Boston terrier, and Oscar, a six-year-old mixed shepherd-type doggie. We have two aged sheep, Spot and Slick, cousins from New Jersey.

My Review:
Wow! I've just finished this compelling page turner...it is the fourth book in the series of Pam of Babylon. We meet all of our old friends again, and find out more about Jack Smith. He really was a "ME" person. Only out for his own satisfaction, and we visit with the survivors he has left behind.
As we observe the beginning of the first Holiday season without him. Pam is still having a hard time, but Dave seems to be there for her. We wrap up some of the loose pieces, or the end of some of the Jack's featured players. Some of them so needy to be with him, he knew how to pick them to fit his needs. He was one "sick" individual.
There are more, if you can believe it, shocking discoveries, and we wonder where or when it is all going to end. For me Pam is a trooper, and having to tell her Children about her AIDS had to be terrifying.
If you have never read any of the books in this series, don't miss this one. Yes it can be read alone, but read the others also...they are excellent.

Pump Your Book Virtual Tour Spotlight: Riverwalker by Bud Bradshaw
About RIVERWALKER
RIVERWALKER features the character debut of San Antonio PD veteran detective Gifford Holloway, a former Special Agent with Army Intelligence. Holloway is in pursuit of the most despicable of criminals, a savage murderer who victimizes children and dumps their remains in the water and along the banks of San Antonio’s beautiful and world-renowned Riverwalk attraction.
Frustrated at the lack of progress on the case and spurred on by an encounter with the mysterious Madame Candelaria, a local psychic, Holloway contemplates calling upon his special gift of “seeing”, though officially off-limits within the SAPD, to help solve the case and bring an end to the terror. Along the way, Holloway finds an ally in the capable and sensuous newspaper reporter, Salma Veramendi, who carries her own history of abuse.
On the bend of the river looms Adler’s Antiques, a historical landmark owned and operated by Wolff Adler, a drug-pumping psychopath descended from a familial line of predators dating back to post-World War I Germany. Himself a victim of horrendous child abuse, Adler is the offspring of a Nazi father and a Mexican bruja, a witch who practiced the “old” religion. Operating from deep within his secret lair beneath the Alamo, San Antonio’s most recognizable and sacred shrine, Adler assumes the guise of Tlaloc, Aztec god of storm, thunder, and … child sacrifice. Adler’s demonic reign of terror, acting upon a distorted internal belief system – a synthesis of Norse mythology and ancient Aztec practices – has a stranglehold on the residents of San Antonio. Wolff Adler has become the RiverWalker.
When his own daughter is suddenly abducted, Holloway pulls out all the stops and, with Salma by his side, closes in on the killer in a gripping climax.
Read the Excerpts
“…..Holloway squinted, eyes straining through the shimmering candlelight. What he saw perplexed him. A series of bizarre symbols and figures had been incorporated into the design of this board, some around the perimeter, some more centrally located. ‘No, Lieutenant, it’s not a Ouija board,’ Madam Candelaria croaked, her voice suddenly deeper. ‘This is called la Tabletta que hable. The Tablet that speaks. This Tablet, Lieutenant, is far more powerful than any Ouija board. In fact, this one can be quite deadly.” (RIVERWALKER, Ch. 3: “Madam Candelaria”).
“…..Suddenly, with a gasp, she stopped. Her eyes flew fully open, whites above the irises. “Retribution!” she rasped. Holloway’s eyes were riveted to hers. The old woman seemed genuinely afraid. The lips on her contorted face trembled, sending a thin river of spittle dribbling downward from the corner of her mouth. Again she spoke. “The Beast has awakened. The River Beast of San Antonio.” (RIVERWALKER, Ch. 3: “Madam Candelaria”)
“…There, in the stillness of inner earth he paused, darkness within darkness, coiled evil, the only sounds the pulse in his ears, his own breathing, and the soft hiss of the San Antonio river, fifteen feet away.” (RIVERWALKER, Ch. 20: “Lair”)
“…For a long moment, she was still. Then she felt her own heart beat, felt the breeze, sweet and warm, rush into her lungs, felt her lashes flutter as the river’s cool caress brushed her cheek. Slowly, Salma pulled her sunglasses down over her tear-brimmed eyes, picked up her thermos and attaché, and quietly walked away, knowing she was loved but not knowing why she cried.” (RIVERWALKER, Ch.5: “Salma”)
“…Otto stood in his kitchen and read how all three victims had been mutilated in the same way, with symbols carved into their skin. ‘Animal figures,’ the article said. ‘Possibly Aztec in design.’” (RIVERWALKER, Ch. 12: “Heinrich”)
Author Bud Bradshaw Bud Bradshaw’s fictional work, “RIVERWALKER,” is his second work, the first being “BRANDISHING,” the true-crime story of the California Highway Patrol’s worst tragedy. His previous formal writing experience consisted of med-legal report writing – chiefly as a Qualified Medical Evaluator and Disability Evaluator – and Intelligence report writing while he served as a Special Agent with the Army’s 109th MI Group from 1969-71.
As an artist, Bradshaw’s work focuses on military history and the American West. Many of his paintings, prints, and Giclees appear in private collections and museums in the U.S., Canada, England, Europe, Hong Kong, and Australia. He is a member of the Western Artists of America.
Along the way, Bradshaw worked as a professional musician while earning his B.S. and D.C. degrees. You may view his web site and blog at www.budbradshaw.com/blog
Q.What motivated you to write the book?
A.The initial motivation stemmed from the desire to construct a reasonably entertaining ghost story. I had always been intrigued with the story possibilities involving the ghosts, goblins, and ghouls and various other Halloweenesque elements from childhood, and therefore felt I had the wherewithal to do it successfully.
Q: What is the single most useful thing you have learned and how has it helped you as a writer?
A.Relative to "RIVERWALKER," the single most useful thing I learned was that a seemingly simple story can become very complex, very quickly. It helped me see how we should never underestimate story possibilities as we precede in their construction; we need to keep the outline open and flexible and allow the characters their individual voices.
Q: What would you say are your main literary influences?
A. I grew up reading the adventure classics by Robert Louis Stevenson. In junior high, Poe got me off and running ("...and the silken, sad, uncertain rustling of each purple curtain...." Who can resist that?); he was accompanied by Rod Serling, Ray Bradbury, Alfred Hitchcock in the thriller/suspense/paranormal genres; Hemingway and Steinbeck showed up along the way and, later on, Joseph Wambaugh, Truman Capote, and Thomas Harris.

My Review:
When an opportunity to review this awesome Bible presented itself to me, I jumped at the chance. I wanted to share this with my 14 year old Grandson, and was presently surprised how much I liked using it.
What a great study Bible....although the cover is a rather drab brown, and makes me think of young men. The meat of the Bible is for all to digest. I love the way it is presented with examples of God's truths, principles, promises, plans, people, and who God is himself.
Turn to the back and there there are study helps, and an area to show you how to complete the Bible in either one or two years! Also there is a Concordance and beautifully colored maps.
This will go to my Grandson, but I have savored it while it is in my possession.

Litfuse Publicity Tours Presents: With Every Letter (Wings of the Nightingale, #1) by Sarah Sundin
Lt. Mellie Blake is looking forward to beginning her training as a flight nurse. She is not looking forward to writing a letter to a man she's never met--even if it is anonymous and part of a morale-building program. Lt. Tom MacGilliver, an officer stationed in North Africa, welcomes the idea of an anonymous correspondence--he's been trying to escape his infamous name for years.
As their letters crisscross the Atlantic, Tom and Mellie develop a unique friendship despite not knowing the other's true identity. When both are transferred to Algeria, the two are poised to meet face-to-face for the first time. Will they overcome their fears and reveal who they are, or will their future be held hostage by their pasts?
Combining a flair for romance with excellent research and attention to detail, Sarah Sundin vividly brings to life the perilous challenges of WWII aviation, nursing--and true love.
About this author Sarah Sundin enjoys writing about the drama and romance of the World War II era. The Wings of Glory series from Revell (A Distant Melody, A Memory Between Us, and Blue Skies Tomorrow) follows three brothers who are B-17 bomber pilots during World War II. In September 2012, With Every Letter will launch the Wings of the Nightingale series, which follows three World War II flight nurses as they find love, friendship, and peril in the skies and on the shores of the Mediterranean.
Sundin lives in northern California with her husband, three children, an antisocial cat, and a yellow lab bent on destroying her writing career. When she isn't driving kids to soccer and tennis, she works on-call as a hospital pharmacist and teaches Sunday school and women's Bible studies.
Enter Today - 9/10-9/27!
My Review:
When Millie Blake reluctantly, actually forced to, begin anonymous correspondence with Tom [Ernie] MacGulliver. Both have had life long problems to deal with. Millie has never had a friend, and Tom has had to deal with his father being a murderer [MacGilliver the Killerer].
While they can't open up to others they open up to each other in their letters. Each begins to depend on hearing from the other.
Tom is a Civil Engineer and has been sent to North Africa...he is putting airfields back together. While Millie is being sent with a new Army program of Flight Nurse. Will their paths cross? Will Millie be able to outgrow her shyness and make some friends? Will Tom be able to come to terms with being the Son a Murderer? Will he be able to become a real soldier, and not be afraid to stand up for his Country?
We travel through battles and are reminded of who are our Allies...and who changed sides? Don't miss this really great historical read. I can't wait for the next novels in this series...They are amazing!
I received this book from Litfuse Publicity Tours and the Publisher Revell, and was not required to give a positive review.

The Bridesmaid by Beverly Lewis
Twenty-seven-year-old Joanna Kurtz has made several trips to the altar, but never as a bride. The single young Amishwoman is a closet writer with a longing to be published--something practically unheard of in her Lancaster County community. Yet Joanna's stories aren't her only secret. She also has a beau who is courting her from afar, unbeknownst even to her sister, Cora, who, though younger, seems to have suitors to spare.
Eben Troyer is a responsible young Amishman who hopes to make Joanna Kurtz his bride--if he can ever leave his parents' farm in Shipshewana, Indiana. Yet with his only brother off in the English world, intent on a military career, Eben's hopes for building a life with his dear Joanna are dimming, and patience is wearing thin. Will Joanna ever be more than a bridesmaid?
About The Author
Beverly Lewis is The New York Times bestselling author of more than eighty books. Her stories have been published in eleven languages worldwide. A keen interest in her mother's Plain heritage and that she was born in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country, has inspired Beverly to write many Amish-related novels, beginning with The Shunning, which has sold more than one million copies and was recently made into an Original Hallmark Channel movie. In 2007 The Brethren was honored with a Christy Award. She has been interviewed by both national and international media, including Time magazine, the Associated Press, and the BBC. Beverly lives with her husband in Colorado.
My Review:
I have read all of Beverly Lewis's books I can get my hands on. This is another sweet Amish story. Joanna Kurtz has been a bridesmaid several times, and her sister Cora Jane is always reminding her. Joanna at 24 is almost considered a old maid.
Eben Troyer from Shipshewana, Indiana and Joanna from Hickory Hollow, PA have a chance meeting on a beach in VA. Guess not to far fetched considering they are all there to pay their respects to her Uncle who has passed...he is an Amish Bishop.
Eben and Joanna are able to spend three glorious days together, and then promise to write. So begins a long distance romance. Can they ever get together? So many miles. Eben's family need him in order to keep their farm going...his brother has left and gone English. Joanna's roots are deep in Hickory Hollow, can she give everything she loves up?
I loved spending time with these families....the meals, quilting bees, the gardening and canning. Visits with loved one, and new babes....feel good moments. Enjoy this fast great read! Hard to put down once you begin!!
I received this book through Net Galley and the publisher Bethany House, and was not required to give a positive review.

Stuck In A Good Book Giveaway Hop: A Copy of Angel of The Cove by Sandra Robbins
Anna Prentiss wants to be a nurse, but first she has to spend a summer in Cades Cove apprenticing to the local midwife. Anna is determined to prove herself…but she never expected to fall in love with the Cove. Has God’s plan for Anna changed? Or is she just starting to hear Him clearly?
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Sandra Robbins and her husband live in the small college town in Tennessee where she grew up. They count their four children and five grandchildren as the greatest blessings in their lives. Her published books include stories in historical romance and romantic suspense. When not writing or spending time with her family, Sandra enjoys reading, collecting flow blue china, and playing the piano.
My Review:
We begin this book with Anna Prentiss and her Uncle Charley heading into the Smokey Mountains to the Community of Cades Cove, TN. Nothing has prepared Anna for the beauty she is experiencing...she is heading her to fulfill her reluctant commitment to her brother. Since her Dad has passed her brother Robert is in charge of the families finances.
Anna has been accepted into the new Nursing Program at Bellevue Hospital in New York City. In order for her to be able to attend she must get a good report to her brother from Granny...Mrs Lawson.
The description of the area sounds so wonderful and made me think of where the Walton's lived! When she arrives Granny and the Preacher Simon are at the house to greet her. She is so afraid she is going to fail. You will fall in love with these Mountain people! They are reserved and leery of strangers, but soon warm up to Anna. I really enjoyed how she interacted with these people, and came to understand their ways. You find God's Hand on these delightful people, and you find Anna trying to do her own will, and not God's. She has been so blessed with Healing Hands, and I adored her interaction with the children. You will wonder to the end how things are going to turn out...and I mean to the very last pages of this great book. Don't miss this sweet book to get lost into!

Material Witness by Vannetta Chapman
A Shipshewana Amish Mystery
Tragedy strikes on the opening night of the Fall Crafters Fair when a woman is killed in the parking lot of Daisy's Quilt Shop, and the only material witness is one of Melinda Byer's boys. The investigation takes a more bizarre turn when detective Shane Black becomes convinced the killer was actually after Callie. This time it's a madman loose in the largest crowd of the year, and he's looking for something or someone. If they can't figure out what, one of Deborah and Callie's close circle of friends may be next. Masked identities, antique quilts with hidden messages, an Amish boy whose handicap makes him stronger, one brave dog, and a possible hidden treasure ... this time it's nonstop action, danger, and a dash of romance.
About the Author
Vannetta Chapman has published over one hundred articles in Christian family magazines, receiving over two dozen awards from Romance Writers of America chapter groups. She discovered her love for the Amish while researching her grandfather's birthplace of Albion, Pennsylvania. Her first novel, A Simple Amish Christmas, quickly became a bestseller. My Review:
Just finished another great visit with Callie, and her Amish girlfriends. Deborah, Esther, and Melinda who have made Callie an honorary sister. When the owner of the other fabric shop is found dead in Callie's parking lot, and the murder witnessed by young Aaron, Melinda's young handicapped son. You have to think...not again?? Mrs Knepp, the deceased has never liked Callie, but why was she murdered?
The only thing they can think of is the quilts that an elderly Amish woman left the four of them. Mrs Hochstetler, gave these quilts to them to be restored, and the money split.
Do the quilts that appear to tell a story hold a clue to this murder? Shane Black the Police Detective, has feelings for Callie, he had arrested her in the first Shipshewana mystery. Will things move forward with them, and will they even survive who ever seems bent on killing. He has even attacked Max, Callie's Aunt's dog that she inherited.
I read this book in less than a day, and couldn't put it down. I want to spend my days visiting with this great friends.
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Zondervan, and was not required to give a positive review.
