He Holds My Hand: Experiencing God's Presence and Protection by Carol Kent

Know without a doubt that God is with you and stands ready to protect and guide you. He holds your hand, and He won't let go.

When Carol Kent's son was sentenced to life in prison without parole, Carol was consumed with grief, sadness, and despair. She was distraught wondering why God permitted this to happen. She had prayed for her son since he was a small child. He had been raised with biblical principles and daily prayer. As Carol tried to make sense of everything, she couldn't help asking, Where's God when it hurts so much?

In the middle of her sorrow, Carol turned to the place where she had always gone for comfort--the Bible. She was desperate to hear God's voice. She soon discovered that the best way for her to -listen- to His voice was to meditate on Scripture and then write out what she believed He was saying. She wrote it as if it was His prayer over her life, and it comforted her. It was as if He took her by the hand, as a father would guide a child, and He gently led her in the direction of unconditional love, renewed hope, and fresh faith.

He Holds My Hand is a page-per-day 365-day devotional. Based on Scripture, this devotional is written as if God the Father is speaking His words of comfort and protection directly over you.

Listen to God's voice and put your hand in His. He is your Comforter, your Healer, your Teacher, and your Joy.

Remember He holds your hand, and He won't let go.

About The Author

“What makes my heart sing?” asks Carol. “Speaking to groups looking for messages that include humor and hope that speak to today’s challenges by pointing to God’s Word.” She says, “I think women need to laugh because life is challenging, but I also think they want to go deeply into God’s Word and find out how to live in the middle of relationship struggles, difficult choices, and hidden fears. Women are longing for authenticity and practical strategies for living out their faith. I’ve spoken at large arena events for Women of Faith, Extraordinary Women, and Women of Joy. I’ve also spoken at medium sized venues and in small, intimate gatherings. It’s a joy to do women’s conferences and retreats for churches, and sometimes my husband Gene and I team-teach at worship services. I’m also available to speak at fundraising events for nonprofit organizations.”

As a former Bible Study Fellowship teaching leader, Carol loves to teach the Bible, and she generously weaves scripture, stories, and applications for life throughout her presentations. She is willing to offer theme and message titles to your group, or she can work with your team to customize a topic you have selected.
She is the founder and director of the Speak Up Conference, a ministry that equips speakers and writers to take the next step. With her husband Gene, she founded the nonprofit organization, Speak Up for Hope, which benefits inmates and their families. Carol is also the president of Speak Up Speaker Services, a Christian speakers’ bureau.
Carol is a popular international public speaker best known for being dynamic, humorous, encouraging, and biblical. She is a former radio show co-host and has often been a guest on Focus on the Family. She regularly appears on a wide variety of nationally syndicated radio and television broadcasts. Past appearances have included the Billy Graham Prime Time Special, Dateline NBC, CNN, MSNBC, Focus on the Family, LIFE Today with James Robison, Family Life Today, and 100 Huntley Street.

My Review

He Holds My Hand sits on my night stand and is there for easy reach each evening as I begin my spiritual journey.

I am loving this handy little book and the personalized reading that goes with the scripture on each page of the year. I am especially enjoying these readings at this busy time of the year, and a reminder of what my journey on this earth is really about.

Thank you, Carol, for this daily reminder of my faith, and additional reading.

I received this book through Tyndale Book Blogger Program and was not required to give a positive review.
