Guest Post from Michelynn Christy & Brandi Gabriel

Take a step back in time…
If He Only Knew is a novel set in the late 1960s. The book deals with family relationships, loyalty, friendship, love, and loss. The main topic is somewhat controversial in nature, but we won’t mention what it is lest we spoil the story for readers. A similar book was written in a different genre under another name and the story really resonated with readers. We felt compelled to share this story with others who perhaps wouldn’t pick up that particular genre, and that is how this book came about. It may be set in the sixties, but the message is as relevant today as ever. Our prayer is that God will touch readers’ hearts and draw them closer to Him.

My Review

This read happens back in the sixties and a different time and place, but the heartbreak is the same.
The author shows us some of the anguish these young people go through with their decisions, young and sewing wild oats, maybe, but there is more, and some of these split-second choices cause a life long suffering.
Getting to the point of forgiveness is a difficult road, secrets abound, and there are a lot of hurts, but all things are possible with God, and all need to find their way to the right path.
A page turning read about the difficult choices made and the consequences that follow, and the long road to forgiveness.
I received this book through Celebrate Lit, and was not required to give a positive review.

  1. thanks for your review. I have not read anything from this author. Nor do I think have I read anything from this era. difficult subjects are always hard to approach. I am glad the author had the courage to do it.
