Rescued Hearts by Hope Toler Dougherty & Giveaway

Children’s clothing designer Mary Wade Kimball’s soft spot for animals leads to a hostage situation when she spots a briar- entangled kitten in front of an abandoned house. Beaten, bound, and gagged by the two thugs inside, Mary Wade loses hope for escape when a third villain returns with supplies.

Discovering the kidnapped woman ratchets the complications for undercover agent Brett Davis. Weighing the difference of ruining his three months’ investigation against the woman’s safety, Brett forsakes his mission and helps her escape, the bent-on-revenge brutes following behind.

When Mary Wade’s safety is threatened once more, Brett rescues her again. This time, her personal safety isn’t the only thing in jeopardy. Her heart is endangered as well.

My Review

Hope Dougherty has written a book with non-stop action, and quickly found myself page turning, and wondering when the next shoe is going to drop.
Just when you think things are about to calm down, nope, we are off, and you never know what is around the next corner.
What does an innocent bike ride, with a kitten rescue have to do with an undercover detective? You are going to find out real quick, and those that captured Mary Wade don’t give up very easily, and the rescuer Brett Davis seems to get in trouble for helping, maybe not.
I loved the detectives Grandmother, Gigi, what a delight, and even though obstacles are thrown all over the place, and threats and danger, bullets, slashed tires, frogs, etc. you have to wonder if these two will survive, never mind end up together.
A very entertaining read.
I received this book through Litfuse Publicity Book Tours, and was not required to give a positive review.
