Being a preacher in the countryside is not for the faint of heart
nor faith. Four inexperienced preachers face a myriad of challenges
including those who figure a man of the cloth needs a wife. Can they
meet the expectations of “helpful” congregants and be true to their
hearts?
The Mountie’s Rival by Angela K Couch
Canada, 1907 — Tired of living in his twin’s shadow, Jonathan Burton is
frustrated to find himself serving as a still wet-behind-the-ears
preacher in the same community as his Mountie brother. How is he to find
a wife when all the eligible women of the community seem enamored by
his dashing brother in scarlet uniform?
Convincing the Circuit Preacher by Carolyn Miller
Australia, 1863 — As soon as Dorothea Maclean saw the country preacher,
she knew Mr. Hammill was the man of her dreams. Now she just needs to
convince her wealthy parents—and Mr. Hammill.
The Angel and the Sky Pilot by Naomi Musch
Minnesota, 1905 — A preacher with a checkered past sets off to win
souls in the lumber camps like the “sky pilots” before him. But can he
earn the respect of hard-living men—and still respect himself—after a
local trader’s daughter joins the all-male congregation?
Mail Order Minister by Kari Trumbo
South Dakota, 1889 —
Olive’s parents mail-ordered a preacher and prayed he’d be a husband
for their daughter. The rest of the town—and Olive—have other ideas.
About The Authors
Fascinated by history and
in love with creating fiction, Angela K Couch has been lost in writing
novels most of her life. As a passionate believer in Christ, she can't
help her faith from permeating the stories she tells. Often her martial
arts training, love of horses, and appreciation for good romance sneaks
in there as well.
Carolyn Miller lives in the
beautiful Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia, with her
husband and four children. A longtime lover of romance, Carolyn loves
drawing readers into fictional worlds that show the truth of God’s grace
in our lives. Her bestselling, award-winning Regency and contemporary
novels are stories that offer hope, heart, and a twist of Aussie humour.

Naomi Dawn Musch loves stories rich in
American history, but occasionally writes in other genres as well. She
pens stories from the pristine north woods, where she and her husband
live as epically as God allows near their five adult children and passel
of grandchildren. She has worked as an editor for a small press, a
staff writer for an EPA award-winning newspaper, a ghost writer, and has
published dozens of magazine and internet articles for the
encouragement of homeschooling families and young writers. Naomi is a
member of the American Christian Fiction Writers, Lake Superior Writers,
and the Wisconsin Writers' Association. She loves engaging with others
and always discovering kernels of a new story. She is available for
speaking and book groups. Her newest novel is Mist O'er the Voyageur,
and she anticipates re-releasing several of her back-list novels in
2019.
Kari Trumbo is a writer of
historical and contemporary Christian romance and romantic suspense.
She's a mom to four wonderful children. When she isn't writing or
editing, she loves to read, sing, and knit. Kari loves curling up with a
fluffy blanket when winter hits. She makes her home in central
Minnesota with her husband of over twenty years, two daughters, two
sons, many cats and one sweet bunny.
My Review
Four stories of sweet romance involving a Preacher. These
stories take place back in horse and buggy times, but all became page
turners as you wondered how things could possibly work out.
We
have four different authors and four completely different locations. As I
was reading and wanting to know the ending, I really didn't want to
leave, wanting to stay involved in the lives of the people I now cared
about!
These are novelas, each taking a quarter of the book, but when you finish one, I was ready to read another, they are very good!
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Barbour, and was not required to give a positive review.
