With two spring weddings to celebrate, friends
and family are reunited at the Amish community of Promise Lodge, where
nothing—and no one—can derail an unexpected new love when it’s part of a
glorious plan . . .
In the year since he lost
his wife in a tragic accident, Lester Lehman has found healing and
purpose—helping construct Dale Kraybill’s new bulk store, enjoying the
Kuhn sisters’ hearty meals, and settling into a tiny, built-for-one
lakeside house. Falling in love again is surely not on Lester’s mind.
Yet despite his firm “no,” two available ladies have set their kapps on the handsome widower—in a boisterous rivalry that weaves mayhem among the wedding festivities . . .
A welcome escape comes from a fresh-faced newcomer. Marlene Fisher
disarms Lester with her witty quips on his romantic predicament, while
her sparkling eyes inspire surprising thoughts of a shared future. But
the heartbreak that brought Marlene to Promise Lodge runs deep, and the
pretty maidel believes
she’s not meant to marry. In a season of vows to love and honor,
scripture holds the key to building their happiness together: love is
kind, and above all . . . patient.

About The Author
Charlotte Hubbard sold her first historical romance in 1990, and she’s been a slave to her overactive imagination ever since. As she writes, her stories invariably take on a life of their own, different from the way she proposed them: unforeseen characters and plot twists come along, and they keep her guessing right along with her readers!
Charlotte has lived in the Midwest most of her life. When she’s not writing, she loves touring historic homes, trying new recipes, crocheting, and playing with her Border Collie, Ramona. She’s a Presbyterian deacon, sings in her church choir, and plays in the percussion ensemble. She’s married to a fine man who—bless him—has never once suggested she get a real job!
My Review
I love being back with these now familiar characters, the author's
description of the lodge and and the surrounding acres makes me want to
live there. Such kind and loving folks, and most go out of their way to
help others.
We are given Lester Lehman, a man I had my doubts
about in the last book, but this time, my heart goes out to him. We are
also given not one, or two, but three possible matches for him.
There
is some drama here, and possible danger, but also some humor, and
justice, and you will be page turning for answers, and yes, they do
come. When the last page is turned I really wanted to continue in the
lives of these people in Coldstream, Missouri!
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Kensington, and was not required to give a positive review.
