My Review:
What a wonderful book to have for young children. When one does an activity, the other wanted to too, and all I had to do was wipe the page clean and the next one got a chance.
Not only is it a good way to learn to draw a straight line, and notice difference, they learn Bible Stories too. This book is jammed packed with activities. The only problem I had was who was going first. Think I need two of these!
The book is recommended for 3 to 5 year old, but used it with 2 and a 6 year old also. The boys now beg for this book, and it has been a blessing when I needed to keep they quiet and occupied! Besides being educational!

I received this book from the Publisher Kregel, and was not required to give a positive review.

For Every Season (Amish Vines and Orchards, #3) by Cindy Woodsmall

Working hard to develop a new Amish community outside of Unity, Maine, Rhoda Byler is fully committed to rehabilitating an orchard with business partner Samuel King. But an impulsive decision has created an unexpected strain in her relationship with her beau, Samuel’s brother, Jacob, threatening plans for the orchard. Amidst mounting tension in matters of the heart and business, Rhoda finds that this fledging settlement feels like the home she has always longed for, and she begins to embrace the God-given, heightened intuition that has always felt like a burden to her. She longs for Jacob to fully be free of his past, so they can work towards the future together.

But as Rhoda uses her gift to unpack an old secret with her Englisch neighbors, it is not her beau but an unlikely ally that cheers her on. With the orchard on shaky ground and Jacob’s plans in question, Rhoda is determined to see things through to harvest. But can she trust her insight to direct her path in matters of the heart?

About The Author

Cindy Woodsmall is a New York Times, CBA, ECPA, and USA Today best-selling author who has written a dozen (and counting!) works of fiction and one of nonfiction. She and her dearest Old Order Amish friend, Miriam Flaud, coauthored the nonfiction, Plain Wisdom: An Invitation into an Amish Home and the Hearts of Two Women. Cindy has been featured on ABC Nightline and on the front page of the Wall Street Journal, and has worked with National Geographic on a documentary concerning Amish life. In June of 2013, the Wall Street Journal listed Cindy as the second most popular author of Amish fiction, following Beverly Lewis.
She's a veteran homeschool mom who no longer holds that position. As her children progressed in age, her desire to write grew stronger. After working through reservations whether this desire was something she should pursue, she began her writing journey. Her husband was her staunchest supporter as she aimed for what seemed impossible.
She's won Fiction Book of the Year, Reviewer's Choice Awards, Inspirational Reader's Choice Contest, as well as one of Crossings' Best Books of the Year. She's been a finalist for the prestigious Christy, Rita, and Carol Awards, Christian Book of the Year, and Christian Retailers Choice Awards.
Her real-life connections with Amish Mennonite and Old Order Amish families enrich her novels with authenticity. Though she didn't realize it at the time, seeds were sown years ago that began preparing Cindy to write these books. At the age of ten, while living in the dairy country of Maryland, she became best friends with Luann, a Plain Mennonite girl. Luann, like all the females in her family, wore the prayer Kapp and cape dresses. Her parents didn't allow television or radios, and many other modern conveniences were frowned upon. During the numerous times Luann came to Cindy's house to spend the night, her rules came with her and the two were careful to obey them--afraid that if they didn't, the adults would end their friendship. Although the rules were much easier to keep when they spent the night at Luann's because her family didn't own any of the forbidden items, both sets of parents were uncomfortable with the relationship and a small infraction of any kind would have been enough reason for the parents to end the relationship. While navigating around the adults' disapproval and the obstacles in each other's lifestyle, the two girls bonded in true friendship that lasted into their teen years, until Cindy's family moved to another region of the US.
As an adult, Cindy became friends with a wonderful Old Order Amish family who opened their home to her. Although the two women, Miriam and Cindy, live seven hundred miles apart geographically, and a century apart by customs, when they come together they never lack for commonality, laughter, and dreams of what only God can accomplish through His children. Over the years Cindy has continued to make wonderful friendships with those inside the Amish and Mennonite communities--from the most conservative ones to the most liberal.
Cindy and her husband reside near the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains in their now empty nest.

My Review:

Another great book by Cindy, and the third in this series. I loved spending time with these old dear friends. Note: If you have not yet read the other two books, there is information give so you can catch up. Don't deny yourself the pleasure of these great reads.
Samuel and Rhoda are working hard to getting the Orchard ready in Maine. We are with them them with their struggles and trials. Blending in with the families, and bring in some new people to help. I never wanted to leave, wanted to sit down with them at their meals!
Will Jacob and Rhoda finally be able to put the past behind them, and be married? Will their be someone special finally for Samuel? How about Leah, will she stay Amish and not want to go worldly?
Enjoy this next book in this series, you won't be able to put it down! I couldn't.

About The Authors

Mary Ann lives in the mountains of Pennsylvania, in the same area where Lily grew up. Like Lily, she was raised in an Old Order Amish home and had five little busy brothers and two wonderful parents. ‘The Adventures of Lily Lapp’ series is inspired by Mary Ann’s happy childhood. Most of the stories—but not all—actually happened pretty close to the way it’s told in the books.
Today, Mary Ann is no longer Old Order Amish. She loves to cook delicious meals for her four children and her very nice husband. She likes farm animals, but she does not like mice. She also writes a blog called “A Joyful Chaos” and enjoys hearing from readers.

Suzanne’s grandfather was raised Plain—one of eleven children born on a farm near Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. She called him Deardad, even though he was a very stern, very serious fellow. That was where her interest in the Plain people began.
Deardad started his career as a teacher in a one-room schoolhouse called Pigeon Hill. Many years later, he finished his career as a publisher for a magazine. That was where Suzanne’s interest in writing began, too.
Suzanne lives in California with her family and big yellow dogs. When she isn’t writing, she’s raising puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind. You can find Suzanne at www.suzannewoodsfisher.com. She likes to hear  from readers!

This a ink to where you can find a synopsis  about each of the books, and there are some games and links.

My Review:

How I love reading these books, and this one did not disappoint. A fast read [to fast for me], with something new happening in each chapter.
Our Lily is growing up, this story takes place while she is a fifth grader. Of course her nemesis Effie Kauffman is still here along with Aaron Yoder, and another new boy to tease her.
I would recommend reading these books in order, but it is a book you could pick up as a stand alone. The story has a few sad, life events, that Lily and her family have to live through. There are also some very happy joyful things that happen. We have a few surprises for Lily, but there is one very big one.
The books are for 8 to 12 year old, but my 6 year old boy seems to enjoy having me read the chapters. This is supposed to be the last book in the series, I sure hope not. I can picture Lily growing up with a family of her own. If it turns out to be true, I guess my minds ending will have to be.
Don't miss this great children's book, reminds me of the Grandma's Attic series.

I received this book through the Revell Book Bloggers Tour, and was not required to give a positive review.

Litfuse Publicity Book Tours Presents: On Distant Shores (Wings of the Nightingale, #2) by Sarah Sundin

Caught between the war raging around them and the battles within, two souls long for peace—and a love that remains true.
Lt. Georgiana Taylor has everything she could want. A boyfriend back home, a loving family, and a challenging job as a flight nurse. But in July 1943, Georgie’s cozy life gets more complicated when she meets pharmacist Sgt. John Hutchinson.
Hutch resents the lack of respect he gets as a noncommissioned serviceman and hates how the war keeps him from his fiancée. While Georgie and Hutch share a love of the starry night skies over Sicily, their lives back home are falling apart. Can they weather the hurt and betrayal? Or will the pressures of war destroy the fragile connection they’ve made?
With her signature attention to detail and her talent for bringing characters together, Sarah Sundin weaves an exciting tale of emotion, action, and romance that will leave you wanting more.

About The Author:

Sarah Sundin is the author of "With Every Letter" and the Wings of Glory series. In 2011, A "Memory Between Us" was a finalist in the Inspirational Reader’s Choice Awards, and Sarah received the Writer of the Year Award at the Mount Hermon Christian Writers Conference. A graduate of UC San Francisco School of Pharmacy, she works on call as a hospital pharmacist. During WWII, her grandfather served as a pharmacist’s mate (medic) in the Navy and her great-uncle flew with the US Eighth Air Force in England. Sarah lives in California with her husband and three children. Visit www.sarahsundin.com for more information.

My Review:

Another great captivating read by Sarah Sundin, she does not disappoint! We are able to look at some of the things that happened in the first book, but from another view point.
With this book we are in Italy, and I felt the bombs hitting the shore. Sarah had me right in the middle of the war in this story. This is Lt. Georgiana Taylor's story, and also Sgt. John Hutchinson. Fraternizing with an officer is not allowed. Never mind that John has more education than most of the other officers, they think the Pharmacy Corp is below them. Huh? Anyway Hutch and his Dad Stateside wage a battle to make Pharmacists Officers. Hard to have a romance when you are not allowed to be together...not even hold hands.
Both Georgie and Hutch are engaged to other people when they meet, and both are aware each is off limits. We also have another engaging character in this book...a child Lucia, a seven year old, orphan, who was injured by an Army truck.
Come along on another great adventure, one with God's hand on each of them. Be ready for a lot of war time action, with a bit of romance thrown in. Catch up with Georgie's friends from the first book, and if you haven't read it, be sure to treat yourself!
I for one cannot wait until the next book it out! Thanks for sharing your gifts Sarah!

My Review:

I have a first and third grader, who really enjoyed this story. The book cover said it is geared to K through 2nd grades, but the 8 year old also enjoyed the story. The beautifully, and brightly colored illustrations really drew them in. Also being boys, they love frogs, and here is one telling weather...to cute.
Besides drawing them in with the really cute story, they learned a lot about the weather. We learn lessons of doing hard work, and honesty. We do have a happy ending here, which the boys loved...Freddy saved the day
There are also some great weather facts in the back of the book, and found my 8 year old was very interested. He loved the information, with pictures on the different types of clouds. Very educational.
