Kate's not sure how deep this deception goes--but she'll do whatever it takes to find out.
Kate Adams had no idea she was carrying counterfeit money and can't believe that it came from her sweet elderly neighbor. Or that it has landed her in the middle of another of Detective Tom Parker's investigations. Determined to prove her neighbor's innocence, Kate stumbles into a pit of intrigue far deeper than a two-bit counterfeit operation--and one that strikes too close to home for comfort.
As family secrets come to light, her world--and her budding romance with Tom--begin to crumble. To Kate, it's clear that she won't be safe until she uncovers all of Port Aster's secrets. But then will it be too late for her and Tom?
About The Author
I keep getting deeper and deeper into the lives of Kate Adams and Tom Parker, and biting my lips for fear of what will happen next in this saga, having just finished the second book. Now if you haven’t read the first, be sure to pick it up, but this one can be read alone.
The book does start off with some devastating news, which we thought was wrapped up in the last book. Also more and more about GPC Pharmaceuticals, with the long reaching tentacles, and in it’s wake leaving a lot of broken lives with them. We have it all happening in this story, with counterfeiting, murder, attempted murder, break-ins, and a mysterious plant. Never a dull moment here, and who at the end of this book is going to survive. Yes there are a few answers, and more to come in the next book, but if you like suspense you are going to really get your fill here.
There is an attraction between Kate and Tom, but it is a very fragile relationship, and is broken very easily. Will they ever get to the point where they really trust one another? Although, I do love how Tom’s family has accepted and love Kate, will she ever be ready for Tom?
Can’t wait for the answers to come in book three, and hope it goes the way I want it to, but who knows. Enjoy!!
I received this book through Revell’s Blogger Tour, and was not required to give a positive review.
