Rainbow Falls in search of her biological sister, the only blood

or will her sordid past destroy their love? Nick Logan hopes to take

My Review
Betrayed Hearts is the third book in the Rainbow Falls series, and to be
honest I have not read the first two, but if they are anything like
this book, they will be on my list. I also see that this is by one of my
new favorite authors, just having finished her new book.
I was
captured by this story from the first page on; I can’t imagine what this
poor girl, Lily Draper, has been through. What she finds in that
moneybox changes her life forever, flashbacks begin to happen, and she
remembers the horror of that night, and what life used to be like.
This
is where she heads to Rainbow Falls and in search of an unknown sister,
and meets Nick Logan. He is everything she wants, and yet all that she
dreads, he is a man of God, and she is running from God.
You are
going to love this town and the rich characters who live here, and how
they seem to take Lily to their hearts, well all but Sarah Jane, I felt
myself wanting to live here too. You won’t want to miss this one; it is a
quick and compelling read.
I received this book through Pelican Book Group, and was not required to give a positive review.

My Review
Three short stories that all take place in the Mariposa Hotel in Seaside Beach, CA, and have all end up at a unique hidden garden and a wishing bowl. This is a special big bowl that has been brought from Mexico and has butterflies in its design. All make wishes that they hope will come true!
The stories are all based on some of the people, who work at the hotel, and they meet that special guest, and we hope that these short-term relationships will lead to a future.
You are going to love the setting of these stories; I sure would love to visit this beautiful place and setting. The Inn is described as we read each story, and we even get to experience the beach.
The stories are fast and can be read in one setting, and you will get lost in them really quickly. Enjoy.

My Review
A Worthy Heart was a book that I never wanted to end, and wish there was another book in this series, such a joy to page turn!
This is the second book in this series, and yes I loved the first, and they can both stand alone, but they are so good you will be quickly attached to O’Leary family.
Two more members of the Montgomery family arrive from Ireland and quickly become involved in this growing family. We are updated on what has happened since we left Irish Meadows, and now Colleen and Rylan have adopted delightful Delia.
We are reunited with the outcast of the family Adam O’Leary, as he is released from jail. Now I did not like Adam in the previous book, but he appears to be a changed man? We are about to discover what he is really about.
This story has a bit of everything, a few romances, and we wonder who will end up with whom. There is a stalker, and we meet the famous Mary Brown, a real person, and the sad wake she leaves behind.
I really enjoyed this book, the characters are so rich and real, and I felt I was walking the streets of New York City, and entering St Patrick’s, I could almost hear the organ playing. Don’t miss this one!
I received this book through Bethany House Blogger Program, and was not required to give a positive review.
I have always loved to write. As a teen, I wrote my first novel, only to be politely rejected by my publisher of choice.
Life
got in the way - university, marriage and children became the priority.
Then once I had time to start reading again, the writing bug bit once
more.
I
enjoy writing both contemporary and historical Inspirational romances.
"Romance sprinkled with faith" describes my writing style. I love themes
of forgiveness and redemption!

Prologue
“The rumor is three black boys killed your parents. Is it true?”
Perched on the edge of his cot, Noah Charleston lifted his eyes to look at the four half-men standing before him. The leader of the pack, Mitch, was sixteen with a baby face, braces and bad acne around his chin. His two muscles, twins Roger and Wylie, were about a year older at seventeen. Both were built like linebackers. Finally, the Whiz, or Matthew a slender fifteen year old with glasses that took up half of his face was the brain of the group.
“Answer him,” Roger prodded, stepping into the small cell.
Noah shrugged. “That was a year ago.”
“We can do something about that.” Mitch popped his gum. “Join us.”
Noah had heard about the “Avengers” as they dubbed themselves. They ruled the juvenile detention hall and dressed in their version of combat gear: khaki pants, boots and camouflage shirts. Even the counselors were afraid of them.
Noah kept to himself. Everyone pretty much left him alone. Except for today.
He looked up at them. “Do I have a choice?”
Wylie stepped forward. “Do you want me to help you make up your mind?”
“How about I help fix that ugly face of yours?” Noah threw back.
Wylie sprung at Noah. Noah jumped to his feet and sidestepped the much bigger guy. Then he bashed Wylie in the back of the head. Roger lunged at him.
“Quit it,” Mitch bellowed. “Leave him alone.”
Roger’s chest heaved but he backed off. His eyes held a threat. Noah met his gaze, daring him to bring it.
“I like your heart,” Mitch said. “We need you.”
“I like my own company,” Noah said.
“We have something you want,” the Whiz said. His voice was barely above a whisper. He wheezed his words as if he was always in need of an asthma pump.
“You don’t have—”
Noah’s eyes widened. The Whiz held a crumpled 3x5 photograph in his hand. Noah snatched it, “Where did you find this?”
“We have our ways,” Mitch bragged.
Noah squinted.
“I hacked into the computer system,” the Whiz said. This time he coughed at the end of his words. “I know who took your picture.”
“We’ve handled him.” Mitch’s tone was solemn.
“That’s why you should be thanking us,” Wyle said, rubbing the back of his head.
Noah looked at the photograph of his parents and closed his eyes to keep the tears from falling. It was his most prized possession. When he had been sent here to the juvenile home two months ago, Noah had placed it under his pillow before lunch. When he checked for it later that night, it had been gone. He searched everywhere but couldn’t find it. That was the first time since his parents’ funeral Noah had cried himself to sleep.
“Thank you,” he grounded out.
“Thank us by joining us,” Mitch said.
The Whiz held up a picture. It was an African-American by the name of Tony Billows who had taken it.
Noah clenched his fists. “Where is he?”
“In the hospital with some missing teeth,” Roger said.

Mermaid Moon (Sunset Cove, #2) by Colleen Coble
Mallory’s mother died fifteen years ago. But her father’s last words on the phone were unmistakable: “Find . . . mother.” Shame and confusion have kept Mallory Davis from her home for the last fifteen years, but when her dad mysteriously dies on his mail boat route, she doesn’t have any choice but to go back to Mermaid Point. Mallory believes her father was murdered and childhood sweetheart Kevin O’Connor, game warden in Downeast Maine, confirms her suspicions. But Kevin is wary of helping Mallory in her search. She broke his heart—and left—without a word, years ago. When Mallory begins receiving threats on her own life—and her beloved teenage daughter, Haylie—their search intensifies. There’s a tangled web within the supposed murder, and it involves much more than what meets the eye. As answers begin to fall into place, Mallory realizes her search is about more than finding her father’s killer—it is also about finding herself again . . . and possibly about healing what was broken so long ago with Kevin. She just has to stay alive long enough to put all the pieces together.

My Review
Mermaid Moon is the second book in this series and I recommend that you
read the first, equally excellent, but this book can stand-alone.
Can you imagine getting a call from you father as he is dying? Then trying to reach him as fast as you can, with the hope that you can save him. This is basically what happened to Mallory fifteen years ago, and now she is returning home under similar circumstances. Last time she felt responsible for the death of her mother, and now her father’s last words were to find her mother.
Strange words from a dying man that lead us on an adventure to save her and her daughters lives. Someone is really out to wipe out this family and to hide their trail, and around every corner is new danger and surprises.
This book really flows and I had to keep reading and enjoying, sometimes with my heart in my throat, to find the answers here. There is so much going on and so many surprises, and you won’t see most of them coming. I really enjoyed this book and read it because I love Colleen Coble’s book. You won’t be disappointed here!
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Thomas Nelson, and was not required to give a positive review.

Broken Things to Mend by Karey White
Broken Things to Mend by Karey White
Celia is in desperate need of a change–a change of scenery, a change of pace, and a complete redo of all relationships. Not knowing what else to do, she opens a map, closes her eyes, and lets fate decide her future. Then she packs her meager belongings and buys a one-way ticket to a little town on the fringes of Oregon’s Deschutes National Forest called Sisters. She’s wanted a family for years. Will she find one in Sisters?
What Celia doesn’t plan to find is a strange Chinese woman whose meddling ways keep throwing her in the path of a handsome, but reserved, forest ranger. But no matter how kind or dependable Silas seems to be, there are some things in Celia’s past that neither of them can escape, and this time, the damage might be too much to mend.

Author Karey White
Karey White grew up in Utah, Idaho, Oregon, and Missouri. She attended Ricks College and Brigham Young University. Her first novel, Gifted, was a Whitney Award Finalist.

My Review
Once I picked up Broken Thing To Mend, I was gone a quickly absorbed in
the story, from the first to the last page this one was a page-turner
for me.
We all think we have it bad, but Celia has had a very rough time in her short life so far. We hear her early story, and you will have tears in your eyes thinking about how awful it was for her, and then the ultimate violation makes her scramble out of Chicago.
While this book is part of the Matchmaker series, it can stand alone, but so far I’m really enjoying this series. Pearl was instrumental in putting Silas’s parents together, and now she is behind the scenes in arranging a meeting between Celia and Silas.
When things finally work out for them to meet you begin to wonder if Pearls plans are going to work, they don’t seem to like one another. There is another secret that is hanging between them, and again you will feel so bad for Celia.
Story is set in the Sisters Oregon area and we shared the beauty of this place as the backdrop of most of this book. You won’t be disappointed with this one, but keep the tissues handy. We hope for the best and acceptance from all, but we never know until the very end how this one is turns out!
