Pam Jenoff is the author of several books of historical fiction, including the New York Times bestsellers The Lost Girls of Paris and The Orphan's Tale. She holds a bachelor’s degree in international affairs from George Washington University and a master’s degree in history from Cambridge, and she received her Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania. Jenoff’s novels are inspired by her experiences working at the Pentagon and also as a diplomat for the State Department handling Holocaust issues in Poland. My Review

When I saw a new book by Pam Jenoff, I knew it would be good, and she did not disappoint, even with this tough subject.
I knew about the ship and still shudder to think of how these countries treated these desperate people. Politics!
This story is mainly about their lives after the ship returns to Europe, or mainly Hannah Martel, and then her cousin Lily. Lily opens her home to Hannah, an act that changes her life, although with the way things were in Brussels at this time?
There is a bit of romance, but mainly this read highlight the atrocities that went on during this time! There are some big surprises, and I loved the author's notes we are gifted to at the end of this book!
We are given some very strong women and some who give everything to help others, and through this book, we need to never forget!

My Review

Peaceful remote Shadow Gap, Alaska, a beautiful setting for Elizabeth Goddard's new book, and if your familiar with her writing, yes, your in for an adventure of non-stop action, and this one does not disappoint.

I love that there is some sweet romance, but there is also some town drama, but then there is the body count. Autumn Long is the Chief of Police and this quiet town is about to become very busy! Enter mysterious Grier Brenner, and now there is more danger most you won't see coming!

Keep reading, there are lots of surprises coming, and you will wonder whom is going to survive.

Now I can't wait for the next book in this series!

My Review

I loved this new read, and was delighted to find a preview for a new book at the end!

This is a love story, of Country, of freedom, of ones fellowmen, and between Else and Hendrik, and it did not disappoint.

I've read several WWII stories lately, but this was the first that takes place in Denmark, and I loved how the author wove this read, using a Baron and a Scientist!

As I was reading, I found I was holding my breath as danger entered, and as these caring people do all they can to thwart the evil that has landed in their Country!

You don't want to miss this one, and now I can't wait for the next!

My Review

This is the third book in this series, and I have read the others, and equally good, but this can be read alone!

Be warned this is a page turner, and brings so many emotions, and forgiving yourself.

Good reminder of a "sin is a sin", and the plank in the eye, but living with the visible sin is hard for Maisy, and she makes decisions that change her life forever. Good ones? The answers unfold as you turn the page, and I was quickly turning for answers.

There is so much love and compassion here, along with a few obstacles, but we are with people who live their faith, mostly!

There is also a young man who is struggling with his faith, but the author places him at the right place at the right time, and we are with him as he has to decide what he is going to do!

This is a wonderful book, and now I want more! Thank you Kelly Irvin!

About Lyn Farrell

Writing as both Lia Farrell and Lyn Farrell, I’ve been publishing books since 2013. I decided to become a writer in the seventh grade. My home life was chaotic and I found peace spending summers at my grandmother’s dairy farm. With little supervision, I wandered the hundred-and-twenty-acre farm and discovered the beauty and healing power of nature. Today, when I need inspiration for my stories, I take long walks. My memories of the time I spent at the farm resulted in a novel “The Cottonwoods” released on 8/21.

My first marriage ended in divorce, leaving me with two young children. Five years later, I fell in love with a divorced professor with six children. Two of my readers’ favorite characters from the Mae December mysteries, Dory and Wayne Nichols, have starring roles in these books. “The Blind Split” (released 1/11) is the second in the series. In The Frame is the third book in the series.

Lewis’s work allowed me to sprinkle White Queen with clever inventions that spark Ellie’s curious nature. Among them are:

Temperature-compensated balance wheels, which Lewis invented as a teen. The backstory of how he sold his invention to the railroad, allowing them to synchronize all their watches, provides an unexpected link to uncover between Lewis and Ellie.

The cinématographe, patterned after Thomas Edison’s kinetoscope but intended by the Lumière brothers to show films to a wider audience. Used in the show at Washington’s Birthday Ball to end the season, the cinématographe aids in the culmination of the mystery of Florence’s missing diamond necklace.

The magical orange tree, which not only blossomed but appeared to grow actual oranges, was a real mechanical invention featured at Ava’s birthday party by The Great Gaspachi.

The Hydro-Vacu. I couldn’t resist including this titter-worthy, real-life machine, used, of course, by the appearance-conscious Aunt Florence.
